Biography

Konstantin (Kocho) Hadzhikalchov (1856-1940/1941) was a Bulgarian public figure, revolutionary and politician from Plovdiv. He studied at Robert College in Constantinople and law in Paris, joined the Plovdiv private revolutionary committee and was imprisoned after the defeat of the April Uprising in 1876. After 1878 he joined the Unity committee, and between 1879 and 1884 was a deputy in the Regional Assembly of Eastern Rumelia and a member of the Permanent Committee. From 2 June to 30 October 1893 he was mayor of Plovdiv. His record connects local government with revolutionary committee networks, Unionist politics and early parliamentary life in Eastern Rumelia.

Officially listed mayoral term in Plovdiv Municipality's mayor archive: 1 June – 30 October 1893.
