Biography

Georgi Dzhevizov was a Bulgarian politician from Plovdiv. Born in the city, he first studied there and later in Constantinople. In 1890 he and associates founded the Izvor wine society, and in 1895 he helped found the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Plovdiv. Between 6 February and 27 March 1902 he chaired the three-member commission governing the city, and from 27 March 1902 to 7 October 1903 he was mayor of Plovdiv. In 1912 he was appointed again, but resigned after 20 days because of an order increasing the price of bread issued without Municipal Council approval.

Officially listed mayoral term in Plovdiv Municipality's mayor archive: 5 April – 26 April 1912.
