Biography

Kostadin Dimitrov Dimitrov (born 5 June 1975 in Smolyan) is a Bulgarian politician and the incumbent mayor of Plovdiv since 8 November 2023. Plovdiv Municipality's official biography states that he has higher education, a master's degree in mathematics from Plovdiv University Paisii Hilendarski. Before leading the municipality, he served three consecutive terms as mayor of Trakiya District (2011-2015, 2015-2019, 2019-2023); in the 2019 local elections he was elected district mayor in the first round with more than 60% of the vote. Before that he worked as deputy mayor in Central District and in the private sector.

The Bulgarian Administrative Register lists Kostadin Dimitrov as mayor of Plovdiv Municipality with an entry-into-office date of 08.11.2023.
