Mancho Manev
Mancho Manev (1842-1922) was a Bulgarian revolutionary and politician from Panagyurishte. He took part in the April Uprising of 1876; after its defeat he crossed the Balkan Mountains with members of Panayot Volov's detachment, hid in Samovodene and emigrated to Romania. During the Russo-Turkish War he served as a volunteer and then settled in Plovdiv. He supported the 1885 Unification movement, fought in the Serbo-Bulgarian War and chaired the Plovdiv society of volunteers and revolutionary veterans. He was elected municipal councillor and member of parliament, and served as mayor of Plovdiv from 30 October 1893 to 7 July 1894.
