Stefan Kalchev
Stefan Kalchev (1860-1917) was a Bulgarian public figure from Plovdiv and son of Hadzhi Kalcho Drenski. He studied in Plovdiv and Constantinople, later becoming a municipal councillor and member of parliament. He was briefly mayor of Plovdiv between 6 February and 31 March 1893. In 1898-1903 he chaired the Macedonian society in Plovdiv, and in 1895 he was among the founders of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry. His record connects Revival-era urban families, municipal government and the city's economic self-organization.
