Biography
Dimitar Bakalov (1933-2018) was a Bulgarian politician from Plovdiv. He first studied at the Faculty of Philosophy and History of Sofia University and later at the Higher Party School in Moscow. From 8 June 1986 to 28 February 1988 he served as mayor of Plovdiv near the end of the socialist period. After his term he was secretary of the Regional People's Council.
