First visit · about an hour
From the station to the Old Town
the arrival walk — from the train platform into the heart of the city
Arriving by train or coach? This is the pleasantest way in: up Ivan Vazov street to Tzar Simeon Garden, then along the pedestrian main street to Dzhumaya square. Thirty minutes, dead flat, suitcase in tow.
The line and walking times are computed from OpenStreetMap and are approximate — terrain and street closures can change them.
When to go
Whenever you arrive — the walk works at any hour of the day.
Getting to the start
Leave by the station's main exit and cross the boulevard at the lights; Ivan Vazov street begins opposite the station forecourt.
After the finish
From Dzhumaya most central hotels are 5–10 minutes away; taxis wait by the Central Post Office.

Good to know
- Luggage With a rolling suitcase the walk is comfortable throughout; cobbles only begin past Dzhumaya.
- Public transport Not in the mood? City buses and taxis reach the centre from the station in 5 minutes.
- Take care Keep an eye on bags around the station, as at any big terminus.
During boulevard roadworks the station crossing shifts — follow the temporary markings.
