Step-free Plovdiv

the level centre — for wheels, strollers and unhurried steps

The best of the centre without a single hill: the gardens, the pedestrian main street, the ancient stadium seen from square level, Kapana and Unification square. A route planned for access, not as a compromise.

The line and walking times are computed from OpenStreetMap and are approximate — terrain and street closures can change them.

When to go

Morning, while the main street is still quiet.

Getting to the start

The garden is reachable on the level from most central hotels; taxis stop on the boulevard beside it.

After the finish

Unification square is convenient for a taxi pick-up; walking back the same streets is just as level.

Worth a detour

Good to know

  • Terrain The whole route avoids the Old Town and the hills — the smoothest surface is the main street.
  • Toilets Rely on cafés along the main street and in Kapana — public toilets downtown are scarce.

"Step-free" describes the terrain, not a formal accessibility certification — individual building entrances vary.
